Hey I want to get a folding moped that will fit in my trunk.  Do you guys think this scooter would be a good deal?

I think it's cool if it's reliable and parts are readily available.

thanks! i know parts are available from foldingmotorbike.com  i want to start up one of those scooter taxi business in my town and i think its a small investment in two scooters for a successful business.  any body else have any ideas?

ar those things safe?Huh? i wouldnt trust something that breaks apart by a pin or clip.

Be aware that these are more like mini-bikes than scooters. (note that the picture shows they are shorter than the height of the doorknob on the door behind them)
I would also wonder if they are DOT approved for on-street use, or for off road use only. (most scooters and bikes this small are not)
These are the type of scooters mainly used as pit bikes at the local track, or carried in the RV for putting around the RV park.

I rent out both my 50cc scooters on craigslist for Northern VA. There's no license requirement here, and I'm getting quite a bit of interest...only problem it's usually from people who don't have a penny to their name. I did have business people and exchange students rent out my scooter so far.

You should definitely look through your state's DMV website for their defintion of a "scooter" or "moped". You should be able to find requirements on engine size, speed, height, etc.
