To find the age of your tires there is a dot(dept. Of transportation) number printed on one side of the tire if they are made after 2000 then it has four numbers at the end,  if made before 2000 it is a three digit number. There are a bunch of letters then those numbers. The first two numbers are the week the tire was made and the last two are the year. I have an 08 tank scooter with tires that say 2307, 23 week of 2007. I have Cheng shin 16 inch tires and have no complaints. Have about 1600 miles so still very new. Your tires will last longer if the scoot is parked in garage or shaded area.

Cool.

I never knew about the numbers. I do park mine in the garage when I'm not using it. I'll check and see when mine were made and chime back.

EDIT: Mine are both "4105"
Also, when checking, I noticed that on my way home I must've hit a mosquito that had a huge lunch! That's a first.

Happy to pass on the info. The dot numbers are the same format for car tires. In general it is recommended to replace after five or six years. But depends if has cracking from weather conditions.  I work in a tire shop...

I finally got some extra money and I'm not finding the exact tread type, and it's probably not the most important thing as long as it's fairly similar--- I keep googling Cheng Shin 3.5/10   C922(<---tread style). Not many results:

http://www.google.com/search?q=cheng+shin+3.5%2F10+C922&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a
Then I click one of the links that show up, and click the exact tire I want(the only tire at the website) and about 50 other tires show up and the one I want is not even on there or it isn't labeled properly---that's the type of crap right there that I tend to steer around just cuz.

Anyway, I emailed a few places and I'm waiting on replies.
I checked out a Kenda style at the bikebandit.com link scooter49 posted, and I may just get this one if I don't get replies from emails back soon:
http://www.bikebandit.com/kenda-k324-scooter-tire

I wanted the same tires I had because I know they handled well in the rain and lasted over 10,000 miles. Oh well I guess.

And I better get the tire the next day after I order it!  Cheesy

That's close to the tread on my "09. Handles nice on wet. The only thing I hate is those black tar road boogies, those things are no fun with these little wheels.

I'm gonna go with the kenda one. Overall, these tires are not as expensive as I thought they would be.

The stuff they put on the cracks in the road that makes it all bumpy? Yeah those are annoying.

I ran over a raccoon the other day---it was crossing the road. I held my breath  Shocked  I didn't get the better part of it though, thankfully. I turned around to see if it was limping, but it was nowhere to be seen.

Around here they pour tar in the cracks, but don't ad the gravel, so you hit the squishy tar and it kinda feels like it's sucking you in. Like when you get pulled in by the snow on the side of the road in winter, only you would wipe out if you tried to pull out of it.
Poor coon Shocked But you did what you should, just go through the bump Undecided
