Hello everyone,
I'm new to scooters. I've wanted one for a while but haven't had the money until now. I know of a 2008 Kymco People 150 with 180km on it (yes, 180km). The woman who bought it only drove it for 2 weekends, and then stored it at my dad's girlfriends' garage. From what I've read, these things are awesome. She paid $3500 for it brand new, and she is wanting $2000 for it now. Worth it? Any help would be great.
Chris

Yes, it's probably worth it. It'll probably have some problems from storage, low battery may need replacing, and old gas should be drained and replaced with fresh premium. That's a good price on an almost new Kymco. If you like it, and it's in your budget, and you plan on getting a motorcycle endorsement...I recommend checking your DMV for the "motorcycle manual" to find out what laws apply to your state. It may be downloadable. The manual is all you need to learn to take the motorcycle temps test.

They are nice but I wouldn't pay more than $1200 for it. When I buy a scooter I don't care what people paid for it new. That's irrelevant because if it needs work, which all used scooters that have been stored do, then that's money out of pocket. If it sat in storage for a long time it'll need the carb cleaned, fuel tank flushed, and a new battery for starters and who knows what else might be wrong with it? If the tires were flat for a long time then they will have flat spots on them and it'll wobble down the road. At least it was in a garage so it didn't get rain/sun.

Who cares what it cost brand new. In my opinion that was way too much to begin with. It isn't new anymore. Get it for the lowest price you can. A used scooter depreciates in value just like a car if not more. You can get other brand new 150 scooters for way less than that. Be cheap and get the price down lower than 2000 bucks.

Yeah, you're right scoot49. They paid 2000 dollars too much for that thing in the first place. You can get a chinese 150 for a lot less that'll keep up with that Kymco.
