ive been having some problems with my scooter, it was ruinning fine, but before i take it to the mechanic i would like to know if any of you guys can help. the scooter turns on fine, but then i accelerate it sound like its going to turn off, so i let it warm up for a little bit and then it runs perfectly for like about 15 mins or so, and then again even if im ridding it in the middle of the streets it dies, if i turn it back on i would have to run it really slow, but either way sometimes it dies like that, specially when i accelerate. if you guys want more info please ask :p
thanks

How long have you had the scooter?  Are you the first owner?  Have you ever cleaned the carb and adjusted the valves?

You may just have water in the carb. Did you ride in the rain or wash it recently?

Try draining the carburetor real quick. The water in there will come out first since gas and water separate gas on top. There are two types of drains. One is a screw on the bottom of the float bowl and the other a screw on the end of a tube that's bolted to the engine just above the kick stand. Loosen the screw on both types to drain.

If draining the carb doesn't help, clean the carburetor and replace the fuel filter. When you are cleaning the carb, look at the diaphragm real close for any holes. Pay attention to how it all comes apart. Label the hoses or take a picture(s) before you remove it so you can get everything hooked back up right.

Diaphragm:  (Yours will look a little different)

Carb blow up. Again your will look slightly different but they are pretty much the same:

I have a Verucci Avispa 50cc and mine did not come with a fuel filter. I had to splice into the gas line and install my own. I did this right away to help prevent a clogged or dirty carburetor. You could try adjusting the carb with the air and idle screws. Warm up the scooter and then turn your air screw clockwise until the engine begins to faulter. Stop and turn that same screw counterclockwise until you hear the engine reach its highest rpms. Leave the air screw setting there. Go to idle screw and turn idle down if necessary. Your air screw will be the one on the side of the carburetor. Your idle screw is most likely on top with a spring on it.
