I have a 150 racer and there is a red light on the console that keeps coming on.  We have no idea what it is for as it is not in the manual.  I have a local guy that will service it.  He thought it may be for oil but the level is perfect.  he said he will need a manual to properly service the scooter.  the light really makes me nervous.  It doesnt stay on consistant just sometimes when I accelorate.  The light picture looks like a telephone handset on a reciever.  It is on the left hand side opposite of the brights light on the bottom of the console.  It is directly below the odometer

any ideal

Have you fully charged the battery?  The fact that it gets "better" when you accelerate would tend to indicate that it has to do with the relative charge of the electrical system.  Not sure but it seems as if that's the main possibility.  Charge the battery to its fullest and see if the lamp goes out.  If it still flickers at idle then your idle may be set too low.

I have a Racer 150 also and was wandering what that light was for.

I just got off the phone with the local Tank dealer and he said that the light is an alarm sensor.  He said that it blinks when the alarm is on.  I'll have to verify that.  Mine blinks a couple of times just after starting then goes  off.

That would be very interesting.  I have been wondering how one could tell when the alarm was on?  There hasn't been much about this even though there have been owners who have the their scoot stop suddenly from not knowing that the alarm was on.  This would be very helpful if that is what it turned out to be.  Is this the same on a Touring scoot?

I just went out and tried the alarm on my scooter to see what that light would do.  It didn't do anything, it just flashes once when I start the scooter.  No flashing light with the alarm on.  I'll go over to the dealer saturday and see if we can figure out what it really is.

It will be a blessing if the light is just a signal of the alarm.  I have such horrible stress driving the scooter with that red light blinking everytime I start and stop at signals.  Why have a light on the console for the alarm?

Since there is no indicator for the alarm on the fob (is there?) it would make sense to have an indicator somewhere.  But maybe this isn't about sense or intuitive logic.  Would like to know about this one.

Have you used the remote starter on the key fob?  the light seems to blink more for me when i use that.  I try not to use the remote starter, i don't want to be going into the store and accientally turn it on.  I guess i could hit the kill switch if i remembered.

I do use the remote starter occassionally.  I have noticed the light is begining to stay on longer.  does that mean the cause of the light is worsening?!  I wish we knew the real reason for this light.

No response yet.  You would think with all the Tank 150 Racer owners and this forum being hosted by Jacar that someone would know.

The light on my scooter is on probably 80% of the time when I drive it.  there seems to be no pattern.  sometimes it is on and sometimes it is off.

I cant even take the scooter in for servicing to get it fixed because I was told without a manual they are as clueless as I am!

Help anyone :?:

I ask our lead mechanic to look into this.  What I heard this telephone looking light is for does not make a lot of sence...  We spoke to someone at the factory and they mention something to the fact of a cell phone signal...  I went what?Huh?  We need to double check this report.  This is not a joke.
