Slight loss in speed

Hello to All
Here is how it started, I was driving, going about 50mph when I heard a little pop sound. After which followed a clicking type sound (The only way I can describ the sound is like when you take a card and attach it to the spokes of a bicycle and it gives off a flapping type sound) When I got to the stop light it stalled out ( very low rpms under 1000) and there was a loss of speed of about 15mph (top speed was about 65 now its about 40 to 45 mph.
The oil, spark plug, and gear oil have been changed and the rpm is now at about 1900. But still have flapping sound and loss of power.(Top speed is 45mph.
Thanks for your help

Sounds like you broke the belt, take off the cvt cover, and check it out.
Note: it helps if you let us know what make and model of scooter you are referring to.

AHHHHHH, there is one other thing, then. Check the oil breather line that comes off the top of the engine, It has been reported that the seat on the racer sometimes pinches this hose, and it literally "pops" like a balloon. Then you would hear the valve train noises easily.
