I'm trying to decide which of the 150cc Tanks I should purchase. Since they are all within $300 of each other as far as price is concerned, for a first scooter, which do you think is the best one to get?

Shall I go all out and get the Touring Tank, or shall I first start with a Sporty?

I am 40 years old, 6 feet tall, and 200 lbs. Oh, and I live in San Francisco, with all of our hills.

Thanks,
Darwin

hi im rideing a touring 150 and love it, i am 51 years old, i weigh 260 and i can do 60 on a flat road , 55 up hill. i think it depends what kind of rideing your going to do, i am doing alot of cruseing, not much stop and go, where i live in florida its a 5 mile, 55mph ride to anyware from here .....lol on sat and sun, i go for nice long rides, 20,30 or 40 miles one way, not alot of in town driving, and it has a big over sized seat!. Cheesy ....so i would suguest the touring, however the sport has a rep for going faster, less body work, and real nice for scooting around town, but not so soft a seat. both have the same engine so that doesnt realy mater i dont think, but the sport does not have the windshield (that i love!) to slow it down more. and it looks alot sportier than the touring. you can tell im in love with my bike i think.    for me the touring is perfect for the comfort on those long rides, added a cd player on the radio so i cruse listening to my favorite cds wile i watch florida go by.  anyway.....i think if your going to do alot of in town stop and go rideing i would suguest the sport. if your going to spend most of your time on the open road i suguest the touring....
i dont think you can loose any way you go! good luck with your choice! :?:

Hey bbj500,

When you're wide open on a flat road, how many rpm's does the engine turn at? I just got my Tank racer 150 and I'm limiting my RPM's to 4000rpm for break in.

i dont have a rpm on my bike guess its just on the racer and sport.
i just tried to keep it under 45 mph for the first 200 miles. then i changed the oil to mobil 1 senthetic. now im going 45-55 but still not rideing 2 or hard rideing just nice and easy up to speed.... untill i hit 500 miles, then im going to change the oil again and the rear lube and then as far as im concerned its broke in.
