Hello, all! My grandfather had a 1966 red Sears Allstate that we'd like to sell. I've attached a photo - we're in Columbus, Ohio. It ran great the last time it was used (15-20 years ago) Let me know if anyone is interested! Cynthia

That is a beautiful scooter. I wish I could get it. I could never afford the shipping. Good luck selling it.

I've seen simular Vespa's in running condition for $2500, you should research a bit on that make, could be worth more, see what others are selling for. Real nice little find. Wish I could afford it.

Allow me to provide some information on this scooter. Back in 1965 I bought a used Allstate Compact just like the one shown. I paid $35.00 for it and brought it home in a bushel basket, no kidding, a real bushel basket so yes, it was a basket case. My dad told me "Son, you wasted your money on that?" Within a few hours I had it running around the backyard. It took me a few weeks to get all the bugs ironed out and get it running properly but I eventually drove it to high school for my junior year. I ended up putting over 10,000 miles on it and sold it for $150.00. That was enough cash to fund my next purchase, a used Honda 150 Dream. Sears originally sold these in there automotive department for $299.00, they were distributed by PUCH. Top speed on mine was a blistering 35 MPH. Of course it's a two stroke and if memory serves me correct it as somewhere around a 50cc with approximately 3 horse power. The fuel cap has a handy measuring device built in it so you could measure out the correct amount of oil since it requires premixing. The storage compartment is located under the seat and is accessed by a screw at the back of the seat. Brakes were drum front and rear, and it has a three speed transmission with twist feature on the left hand grip. Clutch is also on the left hand grip, front brakes are on the right and it has a brake pedal on the floor board. There is and aluminum shroud around the cylinder and head that allows cooling air to circulate around the top of the engine. My only complaint on this design is that your right foot will get very hot due to the heated air from the head. As I remember it required very little maintenance and all I had to do was remove the carbon from the exhaust occasionally. The air cleaner is nothing more than some metal mesh that prevents large particles from entering the carb. I have many fond memories of all the rides I went on the year I had it and it never left me stranded that whole time. Just so you know, in 1965 you could purchase a new All State Vespa for $399.00! I wish I had bought a few of them way back then and saved them to sell today, they are worth nearly 10 times that much now in pristine condition. I cut my teeth on the All State Compact and it taught me a lot about scooters. During my final year in high school I worked in a local Honda shop doing PDI's ( Pre-delivery inspections) for new Honda motorcycles as a direct result from my experience working on my Compact. Whom ever gets this little jewel will have a sweet ride!

You can try the personal messege button under the name on the left. An email notification will go to them letting them know to check their messeges. Good luck, it's a lovely looking scooter isn't it.
